SMCDallas Holiday Toy Drive was one Tweet Event

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to Mockingbird Station last Wednesday night to take part in our 2nd annual charity fundraiser.

This year’s beneficiary was the Vogel Alcove, a fantastic organization that provides homeless parents a safe place to leave their children while they work to rebuild their lives.

We joined forces with Holiday Tweet Drive, a nation-wide toy/clothing drive that is using social media to give back to children who are less fortunate and spread some Holiday cheer along the way.  So Vogel Alcove was a perfect partner for us!  This event is happening in various cities nation-wide to promote social good in the month of December.

Guests enjoyed a pub-crawl style event around Mockingbird Station with stops at Vapiano, Margarita Ranch and ending at Trinity Hall.

In addition to our toy drive, for every check-in on Foursquare at Mockingbird Station the center donated $1 to charity.

Tweets had to include #smcdallas and #tweetdrive2010. Thanks to our check-ins, we raised $55 for the North Texas Food Bank!

SMC Members had a great time socializing over cocktails and nibbles provided by our restaurant partners.

And we gathered over 90 toys for children in our community who will now have a better Christmas thanks to our social efforts!
